The Beautiful Losers
"One More Day To Lose"
The Beautiful Losers met a mere two months ago at a four-way crossing in a decrepit town called Gainesville. Singer, songwriter, rhythm guitarist Rick Rose Rude had long since paid the price for his Johnny Thunders & Charles Bukowski worship, carrying with him the haunted memories of a thousand girls he'd tried to forget in a graveyard of empty bottles & the songs he'd written for them. Lead guitarist Chunk Minor had no memories, only a handful of Chuck Berry licks & a never-ending desire to be loud. Bassist Steve Fooks only had his hair & his mood swings, while drummer Eddie Peery had an incredible horror movie collection & an arsenal of one-liners but no drum-set. Eddie, just like the others though, could easily speak the language of vagabonds & thieves & assured the others he would have no problem acquiring one. Learning they had a shared interest in the Ramones, Generation X & general unruliness they decided to share some drinks in a bar. Of course, once the bar tab came, they had no way of paying it. Upon learning that this group of degenerates & misanthropes very loosely considered themselves musicians, they were ordered up on stage to entertain the bars patrons in order to pay off their bar tab. When the night was said & done, the four realized that they may indeed have something. When they walked out the bar, they saw two streets. Once was called The Street Of Dreams & was adorned with jobs, cars, houses, wives, kids, mortgages & summer vacations while the other, The Boulevard Of Broken Dreams was littered with low paying gigs, loose women, broken bottles & substance abuse. They chose The Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, for it was the only home they had ever known.
